The CPD Board of Directors are voted into the respective positions at the Annual General Meeting of the CPD and terms are generally held for a minimum of two years.

District Superintendent – Dan Carlaw

Dan lives in Prince George, BC, with his wonderful wife Marilyn and three growing sons.
Dan has served as pastor in the Canadian Pacific District (CPD) for the past 28 years – serving in the communities of Smithers, McBride, and Prince George. serves as the District Superintendent. Starting Jan. 1, 2023 Dan began our new full time District Superintendent, replacing our beloved Martin Perren who is now enjoying the retired life.
When the weather is warm, you can find Dan cruising around the province on his motorcycle and enjoying life to the fullest.

Dwayne Goertzen serves as Chair of the District Board. He has been the Pastor of the Smithers EFC for over 25 years and loves spending time with his 4 granddaughters and also enjoy sports of all kinds.
Vice-Chairman – Pat Stich

Pat has been the lead pastor of Grace Bible Church in Vernon for close to 10 years. He and his wife Jenette along two of their family moved to Vernon from the Cariboo and enjoy the milder climate that the Okanagan has. The kids are now grown and Pat and Jenette have become grandparents! Pat has also served as the Vice-chair for the CPD
for many years and, in his free time, Pat likes to ski and play tennis.

Paris and his wife Heather live in Merritt, BC where he is currently serving as the Senior Pastor of Nicola Valley Evangelical Free Church in Merritt, BC.
One of Paris’ enjoyable hobbies is creating woodworking projects from reclaimed
wood.

Maria Dyck has been attending the PG Evangelical Free Church since moving to PG in 2016 with her husband, Jim and their three children. As well as being the part-time secretary, she is a worship leader and a deaconess. Though she has lived in Belize and Alberta, she is most at home in northern BC where she was born and
raised.

“What a great way to end my secular working career.” This was the comment I made when I was hired as pastor here in Ashcroft. I have been involved in serving the church my entire life. Many friends and family have encouraged me in this direction. I was first asked to start pastoring a very small church in my early 20’s. I spent three years in Bible School, but not in a pastoral program. The greatest extent of my formal training is in mechanics and agriculture. Following Bible School I pastored for 2 years at a couple of small CSSM (Canadian Sunday School Mission) churches while at the same time pursuing my mechanic trade. Later, leading Bible Studies, teaching Sunday School and lay preaching were always fulfilling. As in most small churches there was always an abundance of opportunity. We have now lived here in Ashcroft for over 20 years. During this time I have been an elder, board chairman and on the Pastor search committee several times. The frequent opportunities to serve as a lay pastor led several in the church to ask me to consider being their pastor. The congregation agreed and I have now been pastoring here for 7 years.

“Scott, along with his family, have been serving the North Shuswap community since June of 2019. His wife Melissa and their three beautiful daughters (Emma, Elli & Callie) sensed God’s call to serve in full-time ministry while attending Millar College of the Bible in Pambrun, Saskatchewan (2015-2019). Prior to this, Scott had spent time in the trades as a carpenter as well as a hide tanner in a taxidermy shop.”

Director of the Peace / Northern Region – John Marshall

John is blessed to be married to Grace since 1969. They have three adult children, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchild. They have been blessed to live and work in almost every province and territory with the exception of Nunavut and Northwest Territories.
John presently serves a pastor in Goodlow, BC (Approx. sixty kilometers from
Fort St. John).
